Volume License Keys: Services Providers

Published: April 10, 2001 | Updated: October 30, 2006

Volume Licensing media are the only media available for multiple installations under a Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA).

To use Volume Licensing CDs, you will need to acquire a Volume License Key; retail media will not accept Volume License Keys. When you install a product by using Volume Licensing CDs, you will need a 25-character product key. Use the appropriate Volume License Key instead of using the product key that was previously located on the Volume Licensing CD packaging. These Volume License Keys facilitate multiple installations from a single Worldwide Fulfillment (WWF) CD. You will not be able to install a product from a Volume Licensing CD without this Volume License Key.

To obtain your Volume License Keys, contact the Microsoft Activation Center for your region. You will need to do the following:

1.

Obtain your customer number before you contact the Microsoft Activation Center. If you do not have this information, contact your SPLA reseller or Microsoft Account Manager for direct SPLA partners. Volume License Keys cannot be issued without a valid customer number.

2.

Call the Microsoft Activation Center.

In the United States, call (888) 352-7140. (This telephone number is for Volume License Keys only.)

Outside the United States, call your local Microsoft Activation Center.

3.

Obtain your Volume License Keys from the customer service representative.
