Microsoft Software Assurance for Volume Licensing

 

Microsoft Software Assurance for Volume Licensing offers benefits that can help your organization plan and prepare for successful deployment of new software. These benefits include Packaged Services and other complementary benefits that can help with training, readiness, and support.

The Packaged Services benefit offers two types of consulting engagements:

Desktop Deployment Planning Services
Desktop Deployment Planning Services (DDPS) can help you ensure successful deployment of Microsoft Office or Microsoft Windows software to increase usage, increase productivity, and lower cost.

SharePoint Deployment Planning Services
SharePoint Deployment Planning Services (SDPS) is designed to help your organization plan an effective deployment of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server while also lowering cost and reducing complexity.

In addition to Packaged Services, Software Assurance offers a range of training, readiness, and support benefits that can help your organization plan and prepare for successful software deployments.

Training Vouchers
Training Vouchers give your organization access to in-depth technical classroom training that can help IT professionals and developers deploy, manage, and support your organization's infrastructure. Training is delivered by Microsoft Certified Partners for Learning Solutions, who use Official Microsoft Learning courseware that is developed by Microsoft experts.

E-Learning
E-Learning provides access to self-paced, interactive training that is developed by Microsoft experts. This thorough online learning experience helps end users learn to use new software before it is deployed. It also provides your IT staff with training in essential skills that can help them successfully deploy, manage, and support Microsoft technologies.

24x7 Problem Resolution Support
24x7 Problem Resolution Support includes phone support and unlimited Web support during business hours for Standard and Enterprise edition servers. With this benefit, you can receive the business-critical support your organization needs before, during, and after the deployment of new software.

TechNet Subscription Through Software Assurance
With this benefit, your IT staff can access TechNet Online Concierge Chat and Managed Newsgroups. In addition, your organization receives a single license subscription to TechNet Plus Direct so that a designated IT professional in your organization can access evaluation copies of Microsoft software, as well as other technical tools and resources.

Home Use Program
The Home Use Program gives your employees the flexibility to use the same software at home that they use at work. This can help them improve their software skills, resulting in increased employee productivity, reduced IT burden, and higher employee job satisfaction. The Home Use Program helps support your organization's work/life balance initiatives and can help you maximize the value of your Microsoft Office investment.

Employee Purchase Program
The Employee Purchase Program gives your employees discounts on some of the most popular Microsoft productivity and consumer products, including Microsoft Office, Windows Vista, Xbox games, and Zune digital media players and accessories. The Employee Purchase Program helps increases employee morale and also helps your employees build skills on the latest products.

Eligibility

Customers who have the following Volume Licensing programs are eligible for this benefit:

Open Value

Open Value Subscription

Select License Software Assurance Membership

Enterprise Agreement

Enterprise Subscription Agreement

The number of engagement days for which you are eligible is determined by the number of Microsoft Office Licenses and the number of of Core CAL Suites and Enterprise CAL Suites that you have. You can increase the number of engagement days by converting unused Software Assurance Training Voucher days into Packaged Services days on a three-to-one basis (three Training Voucher days equal one Packaged Service day), limited only by the number of Training Voucher days that you have available. Getting Started

1.

 Ensure that you have administrative rights to activate Packaged Services, or contact your Notices Contact or Software Assurance Benefits Administrator.

2.

 Sign in to Microsoft Volume License Services.

3.

 In the left navigation bar, click Software Assurance Benefits.

4.

 Under Benefits Summary, click Packaged Services.

5.

 Optional: Increase the number of engagement days for Packaged Services by applying Training Vouchers. This may require approval from your Benefits Administrator.

6.

 Follow the instructions to assign the Packaged Services voucher to a project manager within your organization and create a voucher.
