With the Enterprise Source Licensing Program (ESLP) benefit, Microsoft Software Assurance customers with 1,500 or more licensed desktop PCs can access Microsoft Windows source code for internal development and support.
Your IT staff can use the source code to make adjustments and improvements to systems and related applications and to help protect against viruses and other computer security hazards.
The ESLP is one of the Product Source Programs—among the source code offerings in the Shared Source Initiative—under which Microsoft licenses select Microsoft products to qualifying customers and partners. Other Product Source Programs include the Systems Integrator Source Licensing Program (SISLP) and the OEM Source Licensing Program (OEMSLP).
Having access to Microsoft source code can help you:
Gain insight into and develop a deeper understanding of Microsoft Windows.
Facilitate security and privacy audits and maintain your computing environment.
Adjust and optimize your systems and related applications for better performance.
Enhance the pre-deployment engineering process for enterprise environments.
Increase internal support and troubleshooting capabilities for deployed Windows systems.
Improve the feedback mechanisms that contribute to the development of better Microsoft customer solutions and tools for the future.
The Enterprise Source Licensing Program is available to Software Assurance customers that are headquartered in an eligible geographic market and that have 1,500 or more licensed desktop PCs.
State and local (or similar) government organizations must be in an eligible geographic market or must maintain 1,500 Windows–based desktop PCs (Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista) under an Enterprise Agreement or a Select Agreement with Upgrade Advantage or Software Assurance.
