To run your presentation on computers that do not have PowerPoint installed, you can save your presentation as a PowerPoint MovieA self-running slide show that plays in the QuickTime Player and has the file extension .mov.. You can then play the movie in any application that supports QuickTime movies. When you play a movie, you can use movie player controls to start, stop, and rewind, and you can use navigation buttons to move between slides.

Several transitionsA dynamic way to move from one slide to the next during a slide show. For example, you can use a transition to fade in a slide or dissolve from one slide to another. play differently in a movie than they do in a presentation. Animation effectsA special visual or sound effect that is added to text or an object. For example — you can fly in text bullet points from the left, one word at a time, or add the sound of applause to a picture when it is uncovered. do not play in a movie at all. The following procedures demonstrate how to convert a presentation to a movie that has background music and plays non-stop at a kiosk.

Step 1: Set up the slide transitions

After you create the movie, it uses the slide transitions in the presentation. Since you want the movie to run at a kiosk, set the transition effects and timings to be the same for all slides in the presentation. In this example, you create transitions that advance each slide automatically after 10 seconds and use fast circle effects.

1. Open the presentation that you want to save as a movie.

2. On the Slide Show menu, click Transitions.

3. Click Options.

4. Under Effect, on the pop-up menu, click Circle, and then click Fast.

5. Under Advance slide, select the Automatically after check box, and enter 10 in the seconds box.

6. Click Apply to All.

Step 2: Save the presentation as a movie

You want to add background music and set up the movie so that it automatically restarts when it reaches the end. You set these options when you save the presentation as a movie.

1. On the File menu, click Save as Movie.

2. Click Options.

3. On the Background soundtrack pop-up menu, click Select soundtrack, and then double-click the music that you want your movie to play.

   Note To see all the sound file types (for example, .mp3 sound files), on the Enable pop-up menu, click All Files.

4. Under Media settings, select the Loop Movie check box, and then click OK.

5. In the Save As box, type Product_Demo.

6. Click Save.

Step 3: Run the movie

• In QuickTime Player, open the Product_Demo movie and click Play.
