Partners in Learning

Technology has the potential to remove barriers for students and educators everywhere. Powerful software and the Internet are changing our access to knowledge. Innovative ways to teach and learn are redefining the classroom experience. And there are new expectations for students: Beyond just basic skills, students need proficiency in collaboration, communication, and managing information - 21st Century Skills - and they need access to the learning tools that put those skills within reach.

Under Partners in Learning, Microsoft is working with governments, ministries of education, and other key stakeholders to offer a spectrum of education resources including tools, programs, and practices. The fundamental premise of this vision is that technology in education can be a powerful catalyst to promote learning and that education changes lives, families, communities, and ultimately nations. The three components of Partners in Learning include:

Partners in Learning Grants Program

These grants will provide investments to create a sustainable model for improving the use of technology in teaching and learning.

Higher Education Institutions

This program provides primary and secondary (K–12) schools with Microsoft Windows 2000 licenses for donated PCs at no charge.

Students

This annual subscription licensing agreement offers academic pricing and reduced administrative costs for K-12 schools.
