Session             : .NET University – Windows Presentation Foundation Lecture (75 minutes)
Synopsis           : Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) is Microsoft’s new presentation subsystem for Windows that is part of the .NET Framework 3.0. WPF provides the foundation for building applications with high fidelity experiences, blending together application UI, documents, and media content. It includes an entirely new programming model based on XAML, an incredibly rich feature set in terms of user experience and graphics ability, and data-driven UI and visualization features. Plus it completely eliminates the wall between developers and designers with a new and seamless developer-designer paradigm. This talk will provide some of the latest information on WPF, as well as providing an overview of the new programming model and the XAML markup language.

Synopsis           : .NET University is your chance to learn the foundations of the .NET Framework 3.0! The day includes technical overview lectures and introductory labs for Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Workflow Foundation, Windows Communication Foundation, and Windows Cardspace. Attendees will receive an alumni t-shirt and certificate upon completion of the materials.

Session             : Building Custom Office Applications Using Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office
Synopsis           : This lab teaches you how to build custom Office applications using Visual Studio Tools for Office. Learn how to extend the Office Fluent UI for example extend and customize the ribbon, create custom task panes, and add managed controls to your Office application all to extend on and customize the Office experience. Also, learn how to create Outlook form regions, how to add and bind data to Word content controls, and create SharePoint workflow.

Synopsis           : Silverlight is a cross platform UI framework for creating compelling Web experiences. Come learn the high-level architecture of Silverlight and the tools that are available to build Silverlight applications.

Session             : Building a Connected Silverlight Web Application
Synopsis           : Silverlight is a cross platform user interface platform for creating compelling Web applications. In this lab, build an end-to-end Silverlight application using the Jolt object model and presentation, as well as ASP.NET and javascript to connect the application to the back-end.

Session             : How do you start building an OBA?
Synopsis           : So you’ ve decided to build an Office Business Application. How do you actually start building an OBA? There is a good way of developing OBA - called 'spiking' - where you nail down a fixed vertical scope across all five architectural layers; presentation, collaboration, process, services, and data. This scope should be part of a project to deliver a new cross-functional business process that cannot be easily done with existing applications. Next you follow an iterative approach, and at each iteration you expose core IT assets, you compose a new solution from them, and then you plug this solution into information channels easily accessible to users.

Session             : Simplifying .NET Smart Client Development with the .NET Client Futures Framework
Synopsis           : Codename "Acropolis" simplifies smart client application development by providing a framework that makes it easier to address complex requirements. In this lab, use "Acropolis" first-hand and see how you can build and manage complex application with ease within the "Acropolis" framework.

Session             : Designing collaboration Solutions using Forms Server and Workflow
Synopsis           : This lab walks you through creating a InfoPath form for data collection, hosting the same in FormsServer, collecting the data in a SharePoint list, adding a workflow to the same through SharePoint Designer and retrieving the data into Excel using CTP and Excel customization. The end result is a complete working app that collects data, routes it through a workflow and reports the summary of the results in Excel for analysis.
