Windows End of Support
As a valued Microsoft customer, we would to remind you that support for Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2, Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and Microsoft Office XP will come to an end over the next several months. Our goal is to assist you to avoid the risk involved in running unsupported products and your IT planning for 2011 and beyond.

What's happening?
Microsoft will no longer provide support or free security updates for Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and Microsoft Office XP after July 12, 2011. The end of support means that we will no longer provide public fixes for these products. Automatic Updates that ship on "Patch Tuesday" will be discontinued. There will be no effect on installed software; products will still continue to function.

What are the implications for my organization if I take no action?
Security
Unsupported and unpatched environments can be vulnerable. Service Packs include all previously released security updates at the time the Service Packs were released. They can also include additional security, mitigations, or changes to default settings to protect users.
Maintenance
In the event that you encounter an issue/outage in your environment, our engineers may not be able to provide problem resolution support until you have upgraded to the latest service pack or operating system.
