Important:

Symptoms:
By default Windows 2000 does not support Urdu Language.
Workaround:
To enable Urdu language support over Windows 2000, Follow this steps:
a) Install Urdu Language Support

Download the following files
to the following directory %Windir%\system32:

Double click on urdu.reg it should add the entries to your registry files.

For precautions restart the
computer.
b) Add Arabic Language
- Open "Regional and Language Options" from Control Panel OR from Start Menu ->Run "intl.cpl".
- In the Language Settings for the System, select the Check box in front of Arabic Language.
- Click Apply.
- Restart the System.
c) Add Urdu Language
- Open "Regional and Language Options" from Control Panel OR from Start Menu -> Run "intl.cpl".
- Select Urdu from Your Locale (Location) Combo box.
- Select Urdu from the drop down menu in Select System Locale window from the Set default button
Now you can type Urdu
text after selecting it from the taskbar.
Note: Urdu has 6 additional characters in its keyboard more than the
Arabic keyboard.
