User Groups are independently run volunteer groups that meet on a regular basis and discuss and share information related to a particular product or technology
User Groups can take many forms but at their heart they are groups of individuals who come together to help and support each other because of their use of a specific piece of software or product. Most User Groups focus around a specific product or technology, but they are generally independent and run on a volunteer basis, or as a non profit organization. User groups will often have many different forms such as their own newsgroups, web sites, and quite often off-line events and conferences.
