Working across multiple groups with marketing and sales personnel on the customer end, program
managers translate customer requirements into product features and create functional
specifications. On the implementation end, they prioritize and deliver on those features, working
closely with key technical resources, such as

Program managers typically have a software development background. This technical expertise is

Research Software Development Engineer (RSDE):
The main Responsibilities is to Execute applied research projects, Build both prototypes (hands-on analysis and coding) and user-ready applications, Collaborate with the core product group engineering team, and interface with CMIC and Microsoft Research scientists.

Research Software Development Engineer Lead (RSDE Lead):
Research Software Development Engineers (RSDE) are strong software developers with a Bachelors Degree, and often a Masters or Ph.D. in computer science. Most RSDE positions work with researchers to help them implement ideas into prototypes and help transfer technology into Microsoft products. In some cases, they may also assist with publishing papers.
Researcher:
The main responsibility of a researcher in CMIC is to conduct applied research on the most challenging problems in computer science.
