Students Colloberation Technologies Lab Lunch

Tarek Elabbady , CMIC Director launched the Student Collaboration Technologies lab at the Faculty of Engineering , Ain Shams University in the presence of Hadyah El Hennawy, Dean of Faculty of Engineering. This lab is considered the first Collaboration Technologies lab in the Egyptian Universities. CMIC offered Ain Shams University this research grant as part of its mission to promote a collaborative culture of research and innovation. The research grant support graduate students working in the domain of using intelligent agents in the sphere of e-learning education with the help of collaborative learning.

The lab is equipped with 25 state-of-the-art PCs and server machines including Microsoft technologies that facilitate collaboration. This includes Microsoft SharePoint Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Live Communication Server, Active Directory Server and Microsoft SQL Server.

The launching event started with an introduction given by Tarek Elabbady followed by a presentation by CMIC team, which included a brief description for CMIC research areas, mission and current projects. The presentation was done by Nayer Wanes (Researcher), Mostafa El Baradi ( Program Manager), Heba Ashour (Research Software Development Engineer).

Prof. Hani Mahdi, Professor of Computer Engineering, Computers and Systems Engineering Department gave a 20 minutes presentation about the research project and how it aims to introduce a Multi-Agent System for Collaborative E-learning (MASCE). Along the presentation Prof. Hani demonstrated the research project success stories.

Hadyah El Hennawy, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, took this chance to thank Tarek Elabbady for his support to the Faculty, on her own words " Tarek Elabbady represent the role model for Ain Shams Engineering Faculty student, he has been a distinguished and creative member and continue to be”.
Hadyah El Hennawy offered Tarek a recognition award from the faculty.

Finally Tarek checked the lab and had a friendly talk with the students, describing the importance of research for education improvement and how they should have a major role in that change.
