Evaluation Criteria
All individuals and teams registered on www.microsoft.com/saudi/officedeveloperoftheyear
will be considered for the contest. Any visitor to www.microsoft.com/saudi/officedeveloperoftheyear
can view any or all of the registered individuals and teams. Each team is expected
to select a theme and short description of the solution that they will work on.
All solutions submitted on CodePlex by Tuesday September 30th and that adhere to
the terms and conditions of the contest will qualify to enter the judge evaluation
phase.
Between October 1st and October 20th a panel of experts consisting of five (5) Microsoft staff and Microsoft MVPs will evaluate the qualified solutions and determine ten (10) finalist solutions for the students category and ten (10) finalist solutions for the professional developers category.

JUDGE GUIDANCE - The Office developer of the Year Contest recognizes exceptional partners that have excelled in offering breakthrough End User Productivity and Office Business Applications based on the Microsoft Office system.

Does the solution incorporate all the relevant and applicable Office 2007 products and maximize the capabilities of those products in order to best address the pain points of customers.

| Completeness of solution overview presentation and Codeplex content |
Are all relevant and required details of the solution included in the posted description on www.codeplex.com ? Is the description and documentation compelling and motivating to potential customers? Is there supporting collateral to make it easy for visitors to learn about the solution?

| Uniqueness of solution in the marketplace |
Does the solution exemplify originality in solving a unique problem in the marketplace? What is new and different about this solution relative to its business competitors? |

Does the solution show historical evidence, or future promise, of business impact for its customers in the form of:

Judges may consider case studies, testimonials, demonstrations, analyst evaluations, and other similar content in evaluating this aspect.

The 10 finalists from each category will be announced on Monday October 20th, 2008 and contacted to attend the final ceremony. On Saturday November 1st and in the presence of the twenty (20) finalists and all the judges, the three (3) winning solutions in First, Second and Third place both for professional and student tracks will be announced, recognized and awarded.
