Egyptian Windows Theme Competition
Introduction
On April 2004 Microsoft Egypt has announced a competition between students in universities located in Egypt. The competition is about creating Egyptian Windows Theme that works on Windows XP editions. The best 5 themes from the submitted ones will win an amount of 500 US dollars for each theme.

Students registered for the competition
A number of 47 students from 10 different universities registered for the Egyptian theme competition. Some of them registered as individuals and some as a group to form 32 requests for submitting 32 themes to be included in the competition. Current Status
First theme (Egyptian Nile Theme) has been released and available for download from Microsoft download website. The remaining 4 themes are finalizing with legal and in the process of approving from development team to be released.

Celebration Event
Celebration took place on December 7th, 2004 in the .NET University Program Graduation Ceremony at the Semiramis Intercontinental (Heliopolis) with the attending of H.E Dr. Amr Salama Minister of High Education and Scientific Research. Also Universities president and most of faculties’ staff were attending the ceremony. Television and press were present on this day as well.
H.E Dr. Amr Salama was admired by the winning themes and met all the winners who explained each one theme and his/her vision of the graphic added and theme different parts.
Winners were given their rewards money along with the certificate of excellence to each one.
