Arabic MAC Keyboard

Abstract
Microsoft Windows XP does not have a keyboard layout for MAC keyboards and recently there are some requests from customers to have a keyboard Arabic layout for MAC keyboards.

Introduction

Based on customer’s requests and because of the differences between the layout of The MAC and Windows Arabic Keyboard layout, we decided to create a keyboard Arabic layout that matches the same as the MAC keyboard.

Adding Arabic (MAC) Keyboard

To Add the Arabic Keyboard and the Arabic MAC Keyboard Please follow the following steps.

  1. Double click the "MAC.msi" file when finished click "Close"
  2. Start Run type intl.cpl OK or "Start" "Control Panel" "Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options" "Regional and Language Options"
  3. Go to Language Tab Click Details

  4. Click Add Choose Arabic (Country)

  5. Under Keyboard layout/IME dropdown list Choose Arabic (MAC)

Using MAC Keyboard

  1. Choose Arabic (Country) from the Language Bar

After adding the Arabic MAC keyboard layout it is recommended to restart you machine to be able to view the titles correctly on the Language bar.
