Microsoft Egypt held an Employee Involvement Day

Microsoft Egypt held an employee involvement day on the side of the Global Women Summit held in Egypt in June 06. The day included a visit to dar el Tarbiah, a child care facility that looks after 300 boys ranging from 3-18 between orphanages and children delinquents.
The child home facility houses an IT lab set up by Microsoft Egypt employees with a donation matching from MS Egypt. The lab is dedicated at educating children in the orphanage, eradicating illiteracy of children delinquents as well as raise fund for the home by offering ICT services to the community.
In addition to the visit, MS and MSN employees contributed physical goods and EGP 6000 that would provide sewing machines for single moms and sponsor illiteracy eradication classes for 11 women and 22 children for 3 months.
Maureen Doolan, Chief Operation Officer, UK-MCS SOA Business Strategy Group, describes the visit: "One highlight of the trip for me was the chance to visit a local orphanage for boys that MS supports in a number of ways........Overall it was a terrific experience and was grateful for the opportunity to attend"
