Microsoft in Qatar recently signed a landmark agreement appointing EMITAC as an authorized Microsoft Distributor for all their products in the State of Qatar. EMITAC is now a full fledged distributor for all Microsoft products in Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait. The first ISO certified IT company in the UAE, EMITAC is one of the oldest IT solutions and services providers and distributors in the region. With operations in Qatar, UAE, and Jordan they have an impressive vendor portfolio that includes partnerships and alliances with prestigious IT companies like HP, MEDICOM and I-Flex.

Samer Abu-Ltaif, General Manager for Microsoft North Gulf said: "At Microsoft, we place great value on our partnerships, and our focus is providing the best products and services available to our partners. With EMITAC as our first distributor in Qatar, we aim to provide faster and more cost effective services and, therefore, deliver more value to our channel partners and resellers in the region. EMITAC's comprehensive operations and experience with companies like HP goes a long way in realizing this goal."

Previously, channel partners in Qatar ordered Microsoft products from distributors abroad, which took much more time and cost a great deal more in freight charges and transportation. With a distributor located in Qatar, Microsoft partners now get more cost effective products more efficiently. The arrangement allows partners and resellers to target their efforts on customer service and support, versus logistics and operations to maintain their businesses.

The move by Microsoft to appoint EMITAC as an authorized Microsoft Distributor also emphasizes the market potential of the State of Qatar and serves to attract investments into the country. "The growth of the Qatar IT industry has been phenomenal and Microsoft is proud to be an important part of this progressing infrastructure. We are confident about our investments into the region and with our distribution focused in Qatar, and our actions reaffirm our commitment to the State of Qatar and the local IT industry. Microsoft also looks forward to making further contributions to the overall national economy of the State in the near future," concluded Abu-Ltaif.

Suhail Issa, Chief Executive Officer for EMITAC emphasized: "We are proud to be appointed Microsoft distributors in Qatar and the North Gulf region. Microsoft is a valuable addition to our vast portfolio of international vendors to offer to our clients. The Qatari market shows promise with one of the fastest growing IT industries in the region, and we are confident that our partnership with Microsoft is wise investment in the growth of this market and the region."
