For Jordanians looking for a phone that plays as hard as it works, Microsoft Jordan today joined Zain and LG in unveiling the newest Windows Phone 7 for the first time in the Kingdom, launched with the LG OPTIMUS 7 exclusively from Zain to create a different kind of phone with new experiences that bring together what people care about most. All Windows Phone 7 OPTIMUS 7 handsets will include the high-performance Snapdragon™ processor from Qualcomm.

Mr. Husni Khuffash, Microsoft Jordan Country Manager, stated, “Microsoft, Zain, and LG are delivering a different kind of mobile phone and experience that makes everyday tasks faster by getting more done in fewer steps and providing timely information in a ‘glance and go’ format. Windows Phone is all about deep, integrated experiences and a unique, elegant design. These integrated experiences come from all across Microsoft including Xbox LIVE, Microsoft Office Mobile, Zune, Windows Live, Bing and much more.”

“The introduction of this new operating system and handset in Jordan is in line with Zain’s goal to offer its customers the latest the world of telecommunications has to offer” said Zain CEO Mr. Ahmad Al Hanandeh. Such an offer, he added, embodies the company’s move to offer data services and content to users, as part of a larger trend adopted by the company, by which data services and mobile applications constitute its future products. “We realize the fast pace of people’s lives these days and have taken this into consideration by helping to reduce time and effort spent by people while on the go” he added.

LG Electronics Levant Managing Director, Mr. Kevin Cha, commented, "LG is thrilled to provide Zain with the matchless phone, OPTIMUS 7, featuring the newest Windows Phone 7 operating system, which will introduce users to a whole new level of advanced,  ultra-modern mobile phone experience."

With Windows Phone 7, OPTIMUS 7 breaks the current smartphone convention to help people quickly and easily find and consume data, information and services from the Web and applications. For example, the customizable Start screen with Live Tiles is a personal experience, showing people their own content. The Live Tiles come to life with real-time updates from the Web such as news, appointments or the status of friends. New Live Tiles can be easily created from whatever content a consumer wants, such as applications, websites and music.

Other features include the Windows Live solution that helps people manage pictures, Windows Live calendar, Office OneNote Mobile and more.

Windows Phone 7 also marks a new era in mobile gaming as the first phone to put the power of Microsoft Xbox LIVE into the palm of people’s hands with a blockbuster lineup of game titles.

With LG OPTIMUS 7, sharing pictures is as easy as taking them with the 5MP camera with flash, autofocus and digital zoom and 720p HD camcorder.

The operating system of Windows Phone 7 is also the first to offer the Zune music experience on a phone— People can play their music collection, synced wirelessly from their PC, or stream or download new tunes from Windows Marketplace at a download speed of up to 7.2 MB and with internal memory of 16 gigabits for storing mustic, pictures, videos and large files.
