Keith Brown
This preconference tutorial, presented from a developer’s point of view, takes a broad look at security on the .NET platform, discussing the various technologies available for building secure server applications. Some of the technologies that will be discussed include mechanisms for authentication, authorization, auditing, encryption, and cover various parts of the .NET platform, including the CLR, IIS 6, ASP.NET, and Windows .NET Server. Attendees are expected to have rudimentary knowledge of security concepts such as authentication, cryptography, and access control.

Keith Brown works at DevelopMentor researching, writing, teaching, and promoting an awareness of security among programmers. Keith authored Programming Windows Security (Addison-Wesley, 2000), and coauthored Effective COM. He is a contributing editor for MSDN Magazine where he writes the Security Briefs column.
