Microsoft Money Online Services Policy Overview

In an effort to keep our partners informed we are providing you an overview of our Online Services Policy (OSP). The OSP outlines how Microsoft supports versions of Microsoft Money in terms of online connectivity. Microsoft Money 2007 Online Services Policy
Microsoft® Money 2007 includes up to two (2) years of Online Services. You will be able to use the Online Services in Microsoft Money 2007 for a period of two (2) years from activation of the product or until September 1, 2009, whichever is earlier. After expiration, if you elect not to upgrade to the then-current version of Microsoft Money after the Online Services period ends, you will not be able to automatically update your accounts and investment values in Microsoft Money 2007. You will still be able to view and edit your financial data in Microsoft Money 2007 and to manually update your accounts and investment values.

Your customers with Microsoft Money 2007 can view this from the Help/About Microsoft Money dialog.

Microsoft Money Essentials Online Services Policy
Microsoft Money Essentials includes up to one (1) year of Online Services. You will be able to use the Online Services in Microsoft Money Essentials for a period of one (1) year from activation of the product or until September 1, 2008, whichever is earlier. After expiration, if you elect not to upgrade to the then-current version of Microsoft Money after the Online Services period ends, you will not be able to automatically update your accounts and investment values in Microsoft Money Essentials. You will still be able to view and edit your financial data in Microsoft Money Essentials and to manually update your accounts and investment values.

Microsoft Money 2006 Online Services Policy
Microsoft® Money 2006 includes up to two (2) years of Internet-Based Services. You will be able to use the Internet-Based Services in Microsoft Money 2006 for a period of two (2) years from installation of the product or until September 1, 2008, whichever is earlier. After expiration, if you elect not to upgrade to the then-current version of Microsoft Money after the Internet-Based Services period ends, you will not be able to automatically update your accounts and investment values in Microsoft Money 2006. You will still be able to view and edit your financial data in Microsoft Money 2006 and to manually update your accounts and investment values.

Your customers with Microsoft Money 2006 can view this from the Help/About Microsoft Money dialog.

Microsoft Money 2005 Online Services Policy
Microsoft Money 2005 includes up to two (2) years of Internet-based Services. You will be able to use the Internet-based Services in Microsoft Money 2005 for a period of two (2) years from installation of the product or until September 1, 2007, whichever is earlier. After expiration, if you elect not to upgrade to the then-current version of Microsoft Money after the Internet-based Services period ends, you will not be able to automatically update your accounts and investment values in Microsoft Money 2005. You will still be able to view and edit your financial data in Microsoft Money 2005 and to manually update your accounts and investment values.

Microsoft Money 2004 Online Services Policy

Microsoft Money 2004 Deluxe, Microsoft Money 2004 Premium, and Microsoft Money 2004 Small Business include up to three (3) years of Online Services and three (3) years of product support. Your customers will be able to use the Online Services in the Deluxe, Premium, and Small Business versions of Microsoft Money 2004 for a period of three (3) years from installation of the product or until September 1, 2007 (whichever is earlier).

Microsoft Money 2004 Standard includes up to two (2) years of Online Services and one (1) year of product support. Your customers will be able to use the Online Services in Microsoft Money 2004 Standard for a period of two (2) years from installation of the product or until September 1, 2006 (whichever is earlier).

NOTE: Online Services refers to Microsoft Money 2004 features that provide your customers the ability to perform certain online financial tasks through the Microsoft Money client software. The ability to perform certain Online Services (such as online banking) may require that your customers obtain these services separately from your financial institution, with or without a fee.

For customers that utilize Online Services, there will be notifications within Microsoft Money 2004 in advance of the date when Online Services expire. To continue using Online Services in Microsoft Money, your customers can upgrade to the then-current version of Microsoft Money to take advantage of the new and improved features of the most current version.

If your customers elect not to upgrade to the then-current version of Microsoft Money after the online service period ends, they will still be able to view and edit their financial data inside Microsoft Money and manually update their accounts and investment values; however, they will not be able to automatically update their accounts and investment values.

Online Services generally include the following functionality within Microsoft Money 2004:

    		• Connections to financial institution OFX server to download transaction, balance, and statement information for banking, credit card, investment, and 401(k) accounts.
    		• Imports of transaction, balance, and statement information directly from your financial institution
    NOTE: QIF file import (as backup files) will continue to be available.
    		• Creation of payment and transfer instructions in Money and sending to financial institution’s OFX server.

    Customers are made aware of the online services policy prior to installation of Microsoft Money 2004. Depending upon the version installed, Microsoft Money displays the appropriate limits.
