Active Statement Certification Audit

Because of the straightforward nature of this technology, the turn-around time for Active Statement certification audit process is relatively short. On average, certification for Banking Active Statement certifications takes 2-3 days when a financial institution supplies files to the Certification Team. Brokerage certifications may take longer, possibly 3-4 weeks because of the wealth of information provided in a Brokerage download.

You must create a series of files that show all the types of statement data that you may possibly download to your customers. It is best if you can do this by populating test accounts with this data and using your test Web site to generate the files.

Audit Files

Your files must include examples of the following:

Bank and Credit Card Statements

  • Each type of account your solution supports. OFX supports Checking, Savings, Money Market, Line of Credit, and Credit Card. For credit card or line of credit accounts, make sure that the account shows a balance owing.
  • Every type of OFX <TRNTYPE> value that your solution will download
  • Multiple accounts in one statement, if supported, if not, just advise the Microsoft Certification team that this is not a supported configuration.
  • An example of a transaction with an ampersand in either the NAME or MEMO tag (Example: AT&T)
  • If your solution supports downloading an OFX file with balance information only, provide an example. If not, let us know.
  • If your server supports downloading loan accounts, provide an example. If not, let us know that you do not support this.

Together with these files, please include brief documentation explaining what data should be in each file (e.g. 1 transfer on 1/17/05 for $125.42).

    Brokerage Statements

  • Every type of investment transaction your solution supports for every type of security your brokerage supports. It would be helpful if you can also let us know what your brokerage supports and does not support.
  • An example of a transaction with an ampersand in either the SECNAME or MEMO tag (Example: AT&T)
  • Reinvested dividends or interest, either as a single <REINVEST> or as <INCOME> plus <BUYXXX>. If your brokerage does not offer dividends or interest, let us know.
  • Notification of splits, either as <SPLIT> or as <TRANSFER> If your solution does not download split information, let us know.
  • Long and short positions. If your brokerage does not support short positions, let us know.
  • Example of every type of security your brokerage supports. . It would be helpful if you can also let us know what security types your brokerage does and does not support.
