How does the recent announcement regarding retail sales of Money affect Money branding?
While Microsoft Money may no longer be available for retail purchase after June 2009, Microsoft is fully committed to maintaining online services for all existing Money financial institution partners. If you are an existing Money financial institution partner and would like to request an online service change for your Money brand, please email the Microsoft Money Financial Institution Partner Team. To review the full annoucement regarding Microsoft Money retail sales please visit http://www.microsoft.com/money/default.mspx.

What does it cost to update our Microsoft Money brand?
Microsoft does not charge for branding updates in our OFX clients.

What are the differences between 1-way and 2-way OFX services?
2-way OFX is also called "Direct OFX." It allows your customers to use products that support OFX, such as Microsoft Money, MSN Money, and Office Accounting to connect directly to a financial institution OFX server. Your customers can request statements, initiate transfers, send payment requests, and send OFX mail.

1-way OFX, also referred to as "Active Statement" or "Web Connect," requires that your customers manually log on to your Web site, select their account, select their date range, and then download their statement. Depending upon your Web configuration, customers may need to follow these steps for each individual account.

We offer downloads from our Web site. Why does your Web site show that we offer direct services?
Research has shown that the single most important feature requested by Money customers is the ability to access all of their accounts upon login. Microsoft has a strong preference for 2-way OFX for account access. If your financial institution does not currently have a 2-way OFX solution in place, Microsoft supplements your web functionality with data harvested by an aggregator. This allows our mutual customers the ability to access their accounts upon login, thus meeting their most important need. Our web listings at http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx will identify harvested data with a disclaimer indicating that this is provided by a third party provider, not by your financial institution.

Please be assured that if your site offers downloads of 1-way OFX, Money customers can still download statement information from your website into Money.

We would be thrilled to work with you to provide 2-way OFX connectivity with Microsoft Money and Microsoft Office Accounting. When a financial institution provides free 2-way OFX connectivity we do not supplement the service with an aggregator data feed. Please be aware that we do not charge for the certification and branding process and have an expert team waiting to assist you.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss providing OFX connectivity please email moneyfi@microsoft.com.

We are implementing an OFX solution. Do we have to undergo certification with Microsoft?
This depends upon your implementation. If you are working with a service bureau or service provider, chances are that Microsoft has already certified their solution. If your OFX provider is in either list below you will likely not need to undergo individual certification. In some cases you may need to do a limited certification. If Microsoft has not previously certified your solution, Microsoft must certify it prior to being able to brand in Money. Contact the Microsoft Certification team to find out if your OFX server needs to be certified.
