I am currently using a previous version of Money. Can I install the trial? | |
Yes. By default, Money Plus Deluxe Trial will install into a different folder than your current version of Money. If setup detects that a previous version of Money is installed on the computer, you will be prompted to have setup uninstall the previous version. This is the recommended option.
However, if you choose to install Money Plus Deluxe Trial without uninstalling your current version of Money, you will need to open Money.
To do so:
Click the Start button on the task bar.
Point to Programs.
Choose Microsoft Money Plus Deluxe Trial.
The first time you run Money Plus Deluxe Trial, your existing Money file will be upgraded and backed up. The backup file can be used with your earlier version of Money.
To do so:
Launch your older version of Money from the Start Menu.
Click Open on the File menu, and browse to the backup file.
If you uninstall Money Plus Deluxe in the future, you may need to reinstall your earlier version of Money from your original Money CD.
INTERNATIONAL USERS: Please note that data files created or upgraded with this version of Money Plus are not compatible with and may not be opened by international versions of the product.
I do not reside in the United States and I want to download the trial. Are there any special instructions? | |
This trial of Microsoft Money Plus Deluxe is intended for United States-based users. Do not open any file created with an international version of Microsoft Money in the Money Plus Deluxe Trial. If you do so, you will be unable to open the file in an international release of Money Plus.
Please note: Data files created or upgraded with this version of Money Plus are not compatible with and may not be opened by international versions of the product.
Users with the Canadian version will not be able to open previous versions of Money if they download this U.S. trial.
I use Quicken. Will the information I have already entered in Quicken be available in Money? | |
Money Plus includes a Converter Wizard for Quicken that allows you to open files created with Quicken U.S. versions 3–7 and Quicken 1998–2006.
If you open a file in the Money Plus Deluxe Trial that you created using Quicken, a copy of your Quicken data file in Money format will be created. It does not affect your original Quicken data file. You will not be able to open information you enter in the Money Plus Deluxe Trial in any version of Quicken.
How does the 60-day trial work? | |
The trial window begins when you first use the Money Plus Deluxe Trial and ends 60 days after such first use.
Upon expiration of the Money Plus Deluxe Trial, you will continue to be able to open and view any data that you entered during the trial, however you will not be able to edit the data or enter new transactions.
What happens when my 60-day trial of Money Plus Deluxe Trial edition expires? | |
Your 60-day trial begins when you first use the Money Plus Deluxe Trial and ends 60 days later. You will not lose your data when the Money Plus Deluxe Trial has expired, but will need to acquire the full version of Money Plus Deluxe to access files that you created using the trial version. You cannot use previous versions of Money or Quicken to access your Money Plus Deluxe Trial files. If you choose to upgrade to the full version of Money Essentials instead of Money Deluxe, you cannot open your Money Plus Deluxe Trial files. If you choose to upgrade to the full version of Money Plus Premium or Home & Business, you can use your Money Plus Deluxe Trial files.
You must accept the enclosed License Agreement before you can use this product. If you do not accept the terms of the License Agreement, do not use this product.
What are the complete details of the trial offer? | |
The Money Plus Deluxe Trial contains most of the features available in the full retail version of Money Plus Deluxe, with the following exceptions:
With the trial, you will be able to run the trial and enter transactions within a 60-day window only. The trial does not include any of the audio, multimedia or "premium services" of the full retail version of Money Plus Deluxe. You cannot open the Money Plus Deluxe file in any previous version of Money or any version of Quicken.

Choose Save this program to disk when prompted. You'll be asked to specify the directory in which you'd like to download the program, so be sure to remember this directory.

After the file is downloaded, locate the directory specified in step 1 and double-click the file webinst.exe.
