1. Please bookmark this page, or print out these instructions now.
   If you have a problem with the conversion process, or need to re-download Money at a later time these instructions are critical to ensure you are able to correctly complete the upgrade process.
2. Sign into Money with the Microsoft Passport that you used to acquire and download the software.
   In order to complete the setup process, you must be signed into the Microsoft Passport account you used to download the software originally. If you don’t normally use passport for your Money file, or use a different passport for your Money file, you will need to at least temporarily sign into Money using the Microsoft Passport you used to make the software purchase.
   Below are instructions on three ways to sign in Money (A, B, or C), depending on how you normally use Microsoft Passport with your Money file.

   1. If you use a Microsoft Passport to sign into Money and it is the same Microsoft Passport you used to acquire and download the software:
      1. Restart Money.
      2. Enter your Passport information, and then click Sign In.
   2. If you sign in to Money using a different Microsoft Passport than the one you used to acquire Money:
      1. Open your Money data file.
      2. On the Sign in to Open your Money file screen, click on File and then click New.
      3. Enter a name for the file such as “Test” and click OK.
      4. Click on Next.
      5. Click on Accept on the agreement.
      6. Choose the option I already have Passport Network credentials and click Next.
      7. Enter your Passport information that you used to purchase the Microsoft Money download and click Next.
      8. Choose to Skip the account setup.
      9. Click Finish.
      10. Restart Money.
      11. Sign into Money with the Microsoft Passport you used to acquire and download the software.
   3. If you don’t use any Microsoft Passport on your Money file, follow these steps
      1. In Money on the File menu, click Password Manager.
      2. Click I want to use a Passport, and then click Next.
      3. Click I want to use an existing Passport, and then click Next.
      4. Enter the e-mail address and Microsoft Passport that you used to acquire and download Money 2006 Deluxe, then click Sign In.
      5. Click Done
      6. Restart Money.
      7. Sign into Money with the Microsoft Passport you used to acquire and download the software.
3. Download Updates
   Once you have signed into Money as described above, you will be prompted to accept and download the additional updates. Click “Yes” when prompted.
   
   When the download is complete, close all programs and restart your computer.
4. OPTIONAL: To remove or change your Passport once the download is complete:

   1. Open Money and sign into your Passport.
   2. Click File and then click Password Manager.
   3. Click Remove.
   4. Choose I want to remove my Passport Network credentials from my Money file and click Next.
   5. Click Done.

You may continue using Money while additional program files are downloaded in the background while your computer is connected to the Internet, however, some features will be unavailable until after the download is complete. Downloading the additional program files may take 15 seconds on a 56K modem and considerably less on a high-speed connection.
