Chapter 4: Microsoft Money 2006 Basics

As you begin to use Microsoft Money 2006, you may have questions regarding specific features or functionality. Money has built-in Help tools to let you learn more about the product, answer your questions, and solve problems as you work.

| Click this icon in the upper-right corner of Money and the Help pane will appear on the right side of your screen. |
Money Help is packed with information on how to use the software. Best of all, you can choose a method that fits the way you prefer to get help:
- All Topics. A full list of all available Help topics, organized by
section. You can use this list to dive into a specific topic, or get an overview of the different areas of Money.
- Find. Search the entire Help file by using a keyword or phrase. This
is useful if you are looking for information on a particular
feature or service.
- Print. Create a hard copy of any Help topic.
- Search for help. Type a phrase to learn more about an area or feature in Money. For example, you can type "create a budget" and then click the arrow button to learn more about online banking.

Video Help
The Money Tour and Videos walk you through many of the features in Money by demonstrating how to use the software with screenshots and a narration that describes each step of the process. To see the list of available videos, click Instructional Videos on the Help menu.
What's next
If you did not enter your bank accounts, bills, deposits, and paycheck information when you set up your Money file, read Chapter 5: Getting Started with
Accounts, Bills, and Paychecks. This section helps you enter details of your financial information so that Money can track your account balances, cash flow, and expenses.
If you already set up your accounts, read Chapter 6: Managing Your Accounts, which focuses on using the account register, balancing your bank accounts, paying bills, and analyzing your cash flow and spending habits.
