Customizing Advisor FYI

In addition to the default notifications, Advisor FYI® can alert you to changes in your stocks, remind you of important dates, warn you if you spend too much in a budget category, and notify you when your account balances reach a specific high or low value.

To modify which Advisor FYI notifications you receive, and on which accounts:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Alerts Center.
  2. Select Customize your Advisor FYI alerts.
  3. Click the appropriate tab, and then customize the information on each tab. These are the tabs you can choose from:
    • Choose Advisor FYI. Select check boxes for the broad subjects you would like Advisor FYI to monitor.

    • Account Balances. For each account you want to watch, click the account name, select more than or less than, and then enter the balance that should trigger Advisor FYI.

    • Monthly Spending. Select a category or subcategory to monitor, select Tell me when my monthly spending in this category is, and then enter a value.

    • Important Dates. Select the dates you would like to be reminded of or click New to add additional reminders.

    • Investment Alerts. Click an investment you want to track, and then select high of or low of to track and enter the price the stock should hit for Advisor FYI to trigger a notification.
  4. When you have finished customizing your Advisor FYI alerts, click OK.

You can change your Advisor FYI options as often as you like. Be sure to modify your settings whenever your financial objectives change so that Money can alert you to options that might help you make better financial decisions.
