Chapter 3: Getting Started with Accounts, Bills, and Paychecks
Setting up bills
When you enter your bills in Money Essentials, it can help you maintain your budget, and alert you when bills are overdue or bank accounts are close to a negative balance. You don't have to watch over your bills and accounts, because Money Essentials does it for you — making it easy to pay and stay on top of both your recurring and regular bills.
Use Money Essentials to:
- Schedule all of your regular bills. Scheduling bills is simple. You just tell Money Essentials who to pay, how much, and how often.
- Know when your payments are due. At a glance see when bills are due. View all of your scheduled bills in a list on the Bills Summary page, or for the entire month on the Bill Calendar.
- Work directly from the Bill Calendar. The graphical calendar view makes it easy to work with your bills and deposits for an entire month.
- Specify when a bill series will end. Set up an end date for any recurring payment and then forget about it.
- Assign categories to your bills to help with budgeting. It's easy to make sure each bill is accounted for in your Money Essentials budget. You pick an appropriate category, like Utilities, and Money Essentials does the rest.
