Following are questions that developers commonly have about developing applications and Web sites with Microsoft® Agent. Do I have to be a programmer in order to be able to create Microsoft Agent scripts and presentations? At least some programming knowledge and experience would be highly recommended in order to develop non-trivial Microsoft Agent applications in most programming languages and development environments. However, some third party tools are available that make the creation of simple Microsoft Agent presentations very easy, even for people with little or no prior programming knowledge or experience. What programming languages and development environments can I use to program Microsoft Agent?Microsoft Agent can be programmed from a wide variety of programming languages and development environments that supports COM and/or the ActiveX interface. Some of the programming languages that can be used for development with Microsoft Agent include Microsoft Visual Basic®, VBScript, JScript®, C/C++, C#, and J++. Some of the development environments that support Microsoft Agent include Visual Basic for Application (e.g. Microsoft Office 2000, Office XP, others) and Borland Delphi. Note, some development environments that provide only limited support for ActiveX interfaces may require third party plug-ins or other support in order to be used with Microsoft Agent. These third party plug-ins may also be limited in their support of Microsoft Agent's full functionality. How can I incorporate Microsoft Agent into my C# managed code .NET Framework application? The Microsoft .NET Framework provides interoperability support for COM and unmanaged code like Microsoft Agent via Interop Assemblies. Refer to the Web page for the .NET Framework and C# samples for more information about using Microsoft Agent with Visual Studio .NET or the .NET Framework.
