Leland Rice is an
internationally known photographer whose work is represented in major
museums and galleries. He began photographing the West German side of the
Berlin Wall in 1983. Calling himself a "visual archeologist," Rice focused
in on the brightly colored pictographic art, graffiti, symbols, poetry,
slogans and familiar expletives that covered the surface of the Wall.
