Welcome to the world of artist Fay Jones - a world in which relationships are complex and enigmatic, protagonists struggle for identity in surprising and mysterious settings, color is vibrant and suggestive, and composition powerful and dramatic. Ms. Jones' images are often based on personal experience and do not reveal themselves easily - appreciate them for their mystery and beauty, but feel free to interpret them in the context of your own experience. We have, however, provided you with some clues. Ms. Jones has graciously provided us with her own comments on the artworks included in this exhibition, and we are pleased to share them with you.

This online exhibition from the Microsoft collection coincides with the artist's 20-year retrospective exhibition, organized by the Boise Art Museum and on view at the Seattle Art Museum from March 20 through July 20, 1997.
