More Information and System Requirements
System Requirements
To use the book's Companion Content you'll need to have Microsoft Visual C# .NET or Microsoft Visual Studio .NET
installed on your computer. Any computer that satisfies the minimum requirements for Microsoft Visual C# .NET will
work effectively with most of the examples in the book; the author recommends Microsoft Windows XP Professional
or Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional operating systems. Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
don't support the hosting of XML Web services or ASP.NET Web applications with the .NET Framework. Although you can
build these projects on those operating systems, you'll need to upload the projects to a properly configured host to
execute them. For Chapter 20, you need IIS version 4 or later.
Installing the Sample Files
The download link opens a self-extracting executable file. To copy the sample files onto your hard disk,
click the link to run the executable. By default, the files will self-extract to the folder,
C:\VisualCSharpNET.
Uninstalling the Sample Files
To remove the sample files, use Windows Explorer to delete the folder \VisualCSharpNET and all of its contents.
