"We had the proof of concept of Hyper-V and saw it working, fitting the needs we required so it was easy for us even after selecting Digi-Data to feel comfortable and secure with our decision"

Burt Jaggernauth, Systems
Manager, Information Networks Division.

Today NALIS is on track to develop social, cultural and political awareness
among the population of Trinidad and Tobago, to diversify the economy and
to create a learning society.

With relevant information being critical to the successful implementation of
their national development plan, NALIS desperately needed to source new hardware and create virtual machines to provide support for the achievement of the goals and objectives through provision of library infrastructure, the on-time delivery of information services, outreach programmes, staff development, information literacy programmes and other library and information services.

35 odd servers located in several locations within the library Centre, many approaching shelf life and beginning to fail causing regular downtime periods and increased man hours for maintenance.

Windows Server 2008 HyperV

"The Hyper V Technology gave us a lot of flexibility. Also with the virtual machine, back up and restoration was easier – because all that was required was backing up one file – the virtual machine file – and restoring it onto another box - and the machine was back up in ½ hour tops!" related Mr. Jaggernauth – enthusiastically…

More up time and consistent delivery of services – no down time on the back-end.
Data is more streamlined, managed much better, can be easily tracked.
Able to provide and give people more capacity and juggle resources.
No space running out.
Less disk failure
