Live Search is the name of Microsoft's web search engine, and is also known as Windows Live Search and MSN Search.
Live Search is integrated into the majority of Microsoft's website, such as the Live.com and MSN.co.nz web portals, providing a quick, easy, and intuitive way to find the information you are after.
Live search offers comprehensive filters to allow to only search for web pages, images, news, academic sites, feeds and more. For example, an image search for
"cats"
allows you to shortlist images to a scratchpad, limit results to a specific animal, and toggle the size of thumbnail images to suit your screen.

Users who are signed in can also save searches and see them updated automatically on their Live.com homepage
Live Search Gadget
The Live Search Gadget can be used in the Windows Vista Sidebar, allowing you to search directly from your desktop. The search results also appear within the gadget. You can also configure the gadget to limit results to specific sites, or topic of interest.
Internet Explorer 7 and Live Search
The search box at the top right of Internet Explorer 7 can also be set to integrate into Windows Live Search. By visiting this
url and selecting Live Search, you can have a powerful search tool right at your fingertips.
The Windows Live Toolbar
