The new design surface in Visual Studio 2008 is a great leap forward that helps developers to build modern, dynamic, connected web applications with ease, at the same time allowing maintenance of old code and fall back to old browsers through standards compliance while maintaining their good look and feel.		Core Infrastructure Improvements in Windows Server 2008 Presenter: Nathan Mercer, Microsoft NZ In addition to incorporating new capabilities and enhancements to existing features, Windows Server 2008 includes a number of improvements in the core OS. These are aimed at increasing the ability of Windows Server 2008 to support highly critical workloads by improving operational reliability, reducing system failures and easing management. We will also discuss improvements in networking, security, remote application access, centralised server role management, performance and reliability monitoring tools, failover clustering, deployment, and the file system.

Virtualisation and your Infrastructure Presenter: Stu Fox, Microsoft NZ The new Windows Server Virtualisation technology, Hyper-V, and updated presentation virtualisation technology, Terminal Services, are core features in Windows Server 2008. This session will provide you with an overview of the virtualisation technologies in Windows Server 2008, the scenarios, features and benefits, and how they deliver real value. Management of your virtual infrastructure is critical for improving the overall efficiency of your IT environment: this session will also cover how our management technologies enhance the core Hyper-V and Terminal Services scenarios to make your datacentre a dynamic and flexible IT platform.

Security Technologies in Windows Server 2008 Presenter: Ben Hunter, Microsoft NZ Windows Server 2008 offers rich new capabilities for securing your IT infrastructure and providing tools to ease management. This session looks at the core Windows security and compliance features including Network Access Protection, Read Only Domain Controller, BitLocker Drive Encryption, Fine-Grained Password Policy, Server Core along with security improvements within the server itself.
