Imagine Cup Terms of Use
NZ TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Imagine Cup competition is open to all New Zealand students enrolled in an accredited New Zealand tertiary institute.
Instructions on how to enter form part of these terms and conditions. By
registering
and entering the Imagine Cup competition, you agree to these terms and conditions and the Rules and Regulations at

. Microsoft reserves the right to modify the competition and these terms and conditions at any time for any reason. The winners selected will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Each team is required to be made up of between 2 to 4 students.

Registration opens from July 2011 and closes September 23rd for the 2011 competition.

It is a condition of accepting any prize that the winner agrees that to the extent permitted by law, Microsoft New Zealand Limited, its associated companies and agencies will not be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage whatsoever, which is suffered as a result of, or arising from, any person entering the competition or in connection with receiving any prize.
It is a condition of accepting any prize that the winners agree to Microsoft publicly disclosing the winners' name and town or city on the NZ Imagine Cup website (

NZ COMPETITION ROUNDS
Round 1
Student competitors must be
registered
on the
www.imaginecup.com/register
before March 2012
Submission of proposals for the first round must be submitted online/electronically to
nzedu@microsoft.com
between the 12th of April 2011 and 23rd September 2011 by 11:59pm.
Proposal submitted must follow the format from the
'Proposal Template'
document from the Imagine Cup NZ website
(http://www.imaginecup.co.nz)
.
The top 60 ideas will be chosen and teams notified by 30th September. These teams will then need undergo a short 10 minute online interview with the Imagine Cup Crew
Videos should be posted to YouTube and tagged, the tag word will be provided to the top 60 teams.
The top 25 Teams will be notified by the preferred contact details stated in their entry by no later than 6th of October 2011.
The top 25 proposals as judged by the competition will qualify to continue to the next round of the competition.
Round 2
During Round Two, the top 20 proposals and their teams will be allocated an industry mentor and a Microsoft mentor. Each team is encouraged to identify one academic mentor.
Each team must complete and fulfil the specified points stated within the competition

At the end of Round 2 each of the top 25 teams will present and demonstrate their idea to a group of academic and industry judges
Each team member will receive a certificate of completion at the end of Round 2 and the team will also receive a referral letter from their mentors
The top four teams will present in front of a live audience and will each be awarded a prize
The winning team will have an opportunity to compete virtually in a qualifying round to represent NZ at the World Wide Finals.
MICROSOFT IMAGINE CUP FINALS
4 x XBOX KINECT PRIZE DRAW
To enter the draw, you must be present at the Microsoft Imagine Cup Finals from 7-9pm on the 30th of April at the Auckland Town Hall, 50 Mayoral Drive, Auckland City. Only one entry per person.
Each winner will receive an XBOX 360 Console + Kinect Sensor.
Winners will be notified on the night and receive their prize in person
Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash. If you are unable or unwilling to accept your prize, Microsoft may award it to an alternate winner.
If you accept a prize you will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes related to accepting the prize
If for any reason an advertised prize is unavailable, Microsoft may substitute the advertised prize for another prize which has approximately the same recommended retail price.
Microsoft New Zealand Limited is the promoter of this prize draw and may modify these terms & conditions without notice.
Microsoft may disqualify, from participating in this prize draw, any person who tampers with the entry process, or submits an entry not in accordance with these terms and conditions
Microsoft is committed to complying with the Government gift and ethics policies. Employees and independent contracts of the Government must adhere to gift and ethtics policies applicable to them when entering this prize draw or accepting any prize.
Microsoft is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, servers or providers, or any combination thereof. Nor is it responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information caused by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this prize draw, or by any technical or human error that may occur in the course of the administration of this prize draw.
