Paul Andrew is a .NET Developer Specialist with the Developer and Platform Group at Microsoft in New Zealand.

 

The Developer and Platform Group is involved in the developer community and Paul ahs been the content owner and speaker recruiter for Tech·Ed New Zealand 2003 and 2004 and DevDays 2004 in New Zealand.  The job also involves lots of public speaking on .NET developer topics and Paul has a great time touring and presenting technology.

 

Paul's particular area of interest is distributed computing and he has worked from binary protocols to BizTalk Server and Service Oriented Architecture on a variety of projects.  His background in working on large UNIX systems gives him a good appreciation of the issues with highly available distributed systems.  He has worked directly with customers in New Zealand, Australia and England and is focussed on adding business value to his customers.

 

Prior to working at Microsoft Paul worked as a consultant with Optimation.  Paul has always been a software developer starting out writing 8085 assembler for embedded security devices.

 

Paul holds a Bachelor of Technology from Massey University and is a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (.NET), a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, and a Microsoft Certified Database Administrator.
