INNOVATION CENTRE
The Microsoft New Zealand Innovation Centre works with national and local government agencies to identify innovative uses of IT that help address key business challenges. The centre then accelerates the progress of government agency projects, by providing Microsoft services and commercial partner expertise at no cost to the agency, delivering a solution prototype or proof of concept. This work is then made available to the whole of the New Zealand public sector. Since 2002, the centre has worked with 11 different government agencies, delivering 12 prototypes, one of which was a finalist in the Ministry of Health Sharing Excellence in Health and Disability Innovation Awards in 2004. This session will provide an overview of the centre as well as demonstrate a selection of the projects.
