The "Future Proofed" Windows 7 Upgrade Option allows people who purchased a copy of Windows Vista or a PC running Windows Vista after 26 June 2009 to take advantage of Windows 7. There are two methods of redeeming the offer depending on how your purchase qualifies. If Windows Vista came pre-installed on a new PC use Method A, or you purchased a boxed copy of Windows Vista separately use Method B.
So you just brought a new Vista PC and you want Windows 7? No problem. We've worked with PC manufacturers to help you protect your PC investment. The companies below offer selected PCs that will qualify for the Windows 7 Upgrade Option*.

If you recently purchased a qualifying* packaged copy of Windows Vista Home Premium, Business or Ultimate without a new PC, you can order your copy of Windows 7 directly from Microsoft. Just follow these steps:
Make sure your PC is ready for Windows 7. Download and run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.
Check your Windows Vista boxed product qualifies* and that you purchased it from your retailer between 26 June 2009 and 31 January 2010.
