Your New Device

Browse the Web

Now you can access information from the Web when you’re on the go! With your Pocket PC and a wireless data plan, you can use Internet Explorer Mobile to view traffic reports, confirm facts, see sports scores, review the latest stock prices, find out what the competition is up to, or check your Web-based e-mail.

Internet Explorer Mobile also has the flexibility to adapt to your needs. For example, you can browse the Web online or download pages to read while you’re offline. And you can choose to view graphic-heavy pages when you have a fast connection—or text-only pages when you’re on a slower connection.

Some sites even have mobile-friendly versions of their sites to make them easier to view on your mobile device. For other display options, see Change Display Options.

The first time you connect to the Internet, you may need to set up your Internet connection. Be sure you have a data plan in place before attempting to connect to the Internet. Check with your wireless service provider to find out about available data plans.

Once your Internet connection is set up, connecting to the Internet is easy!

To connect to the Internet:

  • From the Today screen, press Start > Internet Explorer.
That’s it—you’re connected!

To go to a specific Web page:

  • Tap the Address Bar and enter the address you want—for example, www.microsoft.com.
  • Tap the green arrow to the right of the Address Bar.
