Windows Server 2003 R2 Moves to Extended Support Phase

On July 13, 2010, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2003 R2 made the transition from the Mainstream Support phase to the Extended Support phase.

Extended Support for Windows Server 2003 and for Windows Server 2003 R2 will be available until July 14, 2015.

During the Extended Support phase:

  • Microsoft will continue to provide security updates and paid support.
  • Customers will continue to have access to all security updates and Self-Help Online Support options.
  • Non-security hotfixes developed in the Extended Support phase are only available to customers who enroll in Extended Hotfix Support (EHS).
