  Question
  Excel 2003
Is it possible to auto number lists when there is a space between each item?
My list skips a line. See belowThe "items" should be in a different column
than the numbers

1. Item

2. Item

3. Item

Thank you

Here's an example of one way to do this:

Enter 1 in cell A1.
Cell A2 is empty.
Select cells A1 and A2.
Using the fill handle (cursor changes to a plus sign at the lower right
corner of the selected cells), drag down as far as desired.

Hope this helps,

Hutch

  Answer
  In A1 enter a 1

Enter nothing in A2

Select A1 and A2.

Right-click on the fill handle and Drag/copy down Column A as far as you wish.

Release and "Fill Series"
