I archived my calendar and have located the file but I can't view it. It
asks me to choose a program or search the net and Outlook isn't one of the
programs available to choose. When I choose the net, it just takes me to the
Outlook website.
Use the File || Open method in Outlook and browse to the data

How do you change the properties of the archive folder so Outlook 2003
understands that it contains calendar entries (and therefore needs calendar
views) rather than mail and post entries?
Thanks.

The Archive folder can contain Inbox, Sent, Contacts, Tasks, Notes - the
whole shebang of Outlook folders. Change to the Folder List View of the
Navigation Pane and you should see all the folders in the Archive. The Mail
view shows you only the Mail folders. You can make a Calendar in the
Archive. File | New | change it to say Folder contains item of type.... pick
what you want.
I hope this helps.

Thanks. This helped. I had my Navigation Pane open but hadn't realized it was
set to show only mail folders instead of all folders. Changing that made the
calendar folder visible.
Thanks for your help.

You're welcome - it was an educated guess! Many people "lose" things in
Outlook byusing the Mail view of the Navigation Pain. Yes - "Pain" is my
preferred way of spelling it and for good reason as you have found.
