Under Public Folders we have one database of all of our clients that we call
the main database - everyone keeps their own contacts - the firm wants
everyone's personal contact list to be copied into the main database.

Then you have an Exchange question. Post it clearly in an Exchange group, or
repost here with a more accurate description of what you mean since this is
not an Exchange group.

  Answer
Simple process and applies to copying contacts from one folder to another
whether Outlook or Exchange:

#1 - Open the contact list you want to copy from
#2 - Highlight the contacts you want to copy to your target folder (using
standard drag 'n drop rules)
a) highlight first contact - hold down shift key - move mouse
down to end of list and highlight that contact
- all contacts in between will become highlighted
--- OR ---
b) hold down Ctrl key - highlight individual contacts
#3 - To copy selected contacts - hold down CTRL key and move selected
contacts to the target folder
#4 - done

*** if you right click on the source contact folder and select "Copy
Folder" - you'll end up with a sub-folder entry containing the contacts in
the target folder.

One word of advice - don't try and copy several hundreds of contacts at one
time. You may find out that you get error messages about not having enough
memory or some other kind of messages about an addin having a problem
(depends on your system and there is no set rule of # to select)
