  Answer
It depends on the format of signature you are changing.

Click Tools-Option
Click the Mail Format tab.
Change the Compose message in this format to Rich Text (You can set it back
to Plain Text or HTML later)
Click the Signatures button now.

When you try and add or edit a signature, Word should open.

I am trying to used the Advanced Signature editor in Outlook 2003. It gives
me a message "Cannot find editor for H (.) files" When I tried the advice
below the boxed to change the mail format to Rich Text is greyed out. The box
says "Use microsoft Word 2003 to edit email messages" but I have Word XP. I
also have Vista and this editor worked in XP.

The email editor has nothing to do with your Advanced Signature editor. The
Advanced Signature editor is your default HTML editor.

I have the same problem. However, HTML is set as the default email format and
when I proceed to edit the signature in the alternative editor Wordpad still
shows up?!?!?

Any ideas on what is wrong??

I already set Word as the editor for email traffic although that should not
have anything to do with the signature editing.

Thanks for your thoughts and input!

The Advanced Signature Editor open your default HTML editor configured in
Windows and has nothing to do with the editor for composing new emails.
To change your default HTML editor in Windows use Control Panel-> Internet
Options-> tab Programs
