  Question
I have just accidentally deleted one of my mail folders and am worried that
it may be a mistake that I cannot rectify. Is there any way of restoring the
folder?
Thanks.

  Answer
Are you using an Exchange Server? If so, you can click on DELETE ITEMS, then
on TOOLS - RECOVER DELETED ITEMS.

Usually, Exchange servers are setup to save the last 10 days of deleted
items - they can be recovered sometimes.

If you aren't using an Exchange Server, and you've already emptied your
deleted items folder, I think you're toast.

I can only find "DELETED ITEMS" (not DELETE ITEMS) like you suggested, and I
cannot find any option under TOOLS that says "RECOVER DELETED ITEMS"...some
one suggested just going to the Deleted Items and drag them back, but since
it was a folder, it is not in there. Does anyone know where where deleted
folders go?

Thanks for your help!!!

FIRST... you responded to a post made in Aug. 2005 - not cool.

When you delete anything, it goes to Deleted Items. Do you see a
little "+" in front of that? Click it. If you don't see one, then
your folder is GONE.

If you manually emptied that folder recently, or you have Outlook set
to empty it when closing, that's why it's gone.

Sorry for responding to an old post...I am new at this and it is was the
close to my problem as I could find...

Anyway, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU! I can't believe I didn't see that
"+" sign?!?!?! One of my employees came to me with this and said she had
search all morning for her deleted file! I just assumed she tried all of the
basic things and went strainght to thinking this was probably something far
more complicated! Anyway, we are back on track! Thanks again! We
appreciated the help and yes, we are both slightly blonde when if comes to
most computer issues :)

The way to go is to START YOUR OWN thread, rather than find something
close.

I know this is over a year on since you wrote it, but I have just found your
solution by searching Microsoft's site and solved my problem! I too, cannot
believe I didn't see the + sign!

Thank you SO much - I thought I'd lost all my work e-mail!

Deleted folders do, indeed, go to Deleted Items. If you delete a folder it
becomes a subfolder of Deleted Items and Deleted Items will acquire a plus
sign to its left in the Navigation Pane Folder List. You can click that
plus sign and then drag the folder back to where you want it. Of course, if
you empty the Deleted Items folder before doing this, it's gone.

The Recover Deleted Items feature is available only if you use an Exchange
account. You won't have it for a POP or IMAP account.

The "plus" sign is not in front of the "Deleted Items" folder, but I can see
the subfolder that I am looking for when I try to create a new folder. I
tried to drag/drop, right-click, etc, but to no avail.

Make sure you are looking at the Folder list (bottom left corner of Outlook)
so you can see all folders. Then the folder should show in the Delated Items
folder.
