I have advance slide automatically clicked, checked advance slides using
timings in the set up slide show option. Put 3 seconds for each slide to
transition. When i go to play the slideshow, it stays on the first title

  1. Did you click apply to all slides
2. Is there a sound or video or animation on slide one because if so the
transition may wait for it to finish

Did that answer the question / help?

  Answer
  Yes.

In your Animation Task Pane (Slide Show > Custom Animation) select the sound
event. Right click and select Effect Options > Stop Playing After _____
slides (enter appropriate number).

  Ray,
Just to be sure, in the slide transition task pane, there is a check next to
advance automatically after on the first slide. The timing is well and true
3 seconds and not 3 minutes for instance. You have applied it to all slides?
I know this seems basic but a mistake is easily made.
Also is there animation on the title slide, maybe you have applied a delay
timing on one of the animations. Have you applied music to the slide, maybe
PPT is waiting for the music to be finished and transition.

  Hi,
I am working on a presentation due shortly and cannot figure out how to go
from slide to slide automatically. I have tried for a long time reading help
topics. I have checked the automatically after under advance slide tab. i
have set it to one second as well. and i have check apply to all slides. I do
have animation but even when the pictures are finished coming up on timer and
all animations are over, the slide does not change. it remains there and the
next slide only comes up on a mouse click. please help shortly. because i may
not check this soon enough please email me at junior_soccerboy@hotmail.com
with a response as well as a post up here. it would be greatly appreciated!
any tips for troubleshooting or help would be great. thankyou very much.

You have music on the first slide, don't you? Open the custom animation
pane. Double-click the sound "animation" in the pane. On the first tab, put
999 in the "stop playing after" box.
