  Question
I have used PPT since day 1. Why will slide transition not apply on Office
2007?

  Will J,
I does here, what have you tried to make it work. On the animations tab, in
the "transition to this slide" group, click on a thumbnail with a transition
and click apply to all.

Apparently some add-ins cause problems; IIRC, the Google toolbar was one of
the problems. If you've got that, try uninstalling it.

Just ran across this -- says it's because of COM add-ins.

http://officebeta.iponet.net/en-us/products/FX101517941033.aspx

Slide Transition effects don't Live Preview (Normal View) or work during
Slide Show.

This is a known problem in Beta 2 and Beta 2 Technical Refresh that is
caused by having COM add-in's installed.

This will be fixed by RTM, but the workaround, for now, is to remove any COM
add-in's for PowerPoint if you need to use or test slide transition effects.

*RTM = "Release to Manufacturing"

I saw this message from 2006 and It's now January 2009. I still can't get
the timing in transitions to work. This is so frustrating as I was very good
in PowerPoint 2003 and now I feel lost in 2007. Do you know where I can get
a fix for this?

This bug was fixed. What exactly is the issue you're having with timing in
transitions?
