  Question
I'm making a slide show, so for the backgrounds I took some pictures I had
and did that wash effect....then I opened a new file and selected background,
and then fill....I did a save as and saved them in the design templates.
When I go to make my slide show and click on design all of the ones I made
show up, but when I actually try to apply it to the slide....the slide stays
blank.....only one of the templates I made works....and since I did them all
the same I'm not sure what I did or how to fix it so I can use them. Any
help or ideas would be great. Thanks

  Answer
Did you apply the background to the master slide?

View > master >slide master

Apply background and resave as a .pot file.

  So I just retried making one and that's what I didn't do.....I didn't apply
all of them to the master....just the first one.....I made about 25
templates, is there a way to fix them or do I have to remake all of them?

  Answer
  Depends

Can you open and get a slide with the background set?

If so right click on the slide > background and apply to all.

no...I tried to do what you just offered and it didn't work....I also clicked
on designs (and then it pulls all of your templates up on the right) I tried
picking one that I made (they show up in that spot) and then clicked on apply
to all slides, but the slides just stay blank....even when I pull up a new
file and go to the Master slide...my templates show up there to use as
designs...I just can't get them to apply to the actual slide...or the master
slide to resave it

  Answer
  >You wont be able to get them to apply as designs but if you saved with a
slide with a background you should be able to open in powerpoint as a
standard powerpoint and then right click >choose background >apply to all
(not apply) should work.
