  Question
Our company recently want to adopt MOSS 2007. One thing we started to look at
as prove of concept was the Wiki feature in MOSS 2007.
However, the OOB (out of box) wiki's functionality is very limited comparing
to MediaWiki. For example, Creating Table of content, category, section
editing and etc. So we are thinking of coustomising it to make it more like
MediaWiki.
The main area that I want to modify is the content rendering part where it
parses the content (eg '[[]]' as new page link). And maybe extra sytanx/code
to allow more editing functions such generation of table of content at the
top of wiki page.

Does anyone know where I can start to modify OOB wiki?

Thanks

  Hi Chenny,

To customize the Wiki like you have described below, I would look at the
events model for libraries / lists (Wiki Pages are stored in a library)

Have a look this article in the WSS 3.0 SDK

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms442323.aspx

Cheers

Toby

  Hi Toby,

Thanks for the info.

Am I still able to retain the OOB wiki functionalities and extent it? Or I
have to create the wiki from scratch.

Thanks

Chenny,

  Hi Chenny,

You can easily extend the current Wiki functionality easily.

Here is a good blog that will give you some ideas to get you started
