  Question
We are using Document Libraries for resource storage / knowledge
management for my team at work, and I would like to be able post
cross-references to documents stored in other locations within the
company. Is it possible to store a "link" object within a document
library? When I create a link on my desktop and try to upload it to
the document library, it does not upload (I get an error). I don't
want to create a seperate link library, but rather figure out the
easiest way to add a reference to another location from our current
Document Libraries.

Can anyone help me out?

  Answer
You can add a field to a document library of type hyperlink/image and pick
Hyperlink and then you can add a link to another document in the same
"record" as a document in the document library.

Two similar fields if you might need two links etc.

You can also create a new column where you want the link to appear, then
choose "Lookup" as the type. It should prompt you to make the proper link.
