  Question
When I insert (or copy-paste) an image (JPEG, BITMAP, clip art) into word it
appears in the document and saves and prints OK. However, if I scroll so that
the image moves off the screen, or if I open anything infront of the image,
it (or part of it) disappears. The image will then reappear only if I
1. show/hide picture toolbar
2. press return
3. open the file again.
the images are very small, it is not that they are just taking a while to
reload. It appears that for some reason they just don't reload until
prompted. Please help.
Word 2003, Windows XP, pentium 4

Going through all the tab options on the display control panel did not show anything suspicious. The only changes available are 60-->75 refresh rate, and 32-->16 bit color. Tried the 16 bit color, but my images were x-ed out. I've been working with Word for more than a decade, but am new to XP and Word 2003.

This is a common screen driver related problem. Most display adapter
manufacturers have updates to fix the problem. Check the manufacturer's web
site for the latest update.
